Iman Ali, the glamorous TV
and movie star, began her journey as a fashion model. For over ten years, she
was the runway queen before she decided to expand her horizons in the showbiz
industry. The model-turned-actress is known and loved for her performances and
the roles she portrays. And, of course, she is known for not mincing her words
and sharing her opinions freely and quite bluntly.
Lately, she was a guest in
The Talk Talk Show, where she shared a lot of tidbits about the movie, Punjab
Nahi Jaungi, and why she rejected it. She said, "Though Punjab
Nahi Jaungi was a big movie, and while I had suggested turning the
play, Punjab Nahi Jaungi into a film, I decided to
quit." When probed about the reason behind her move, Iman Ali said,
"The female lead's character was lacking. Maybe our writer who created the
script of the film didn't bother to understand the basics, because as a girl
from Karachi who has returned from abroad, Amal's character was very lacking,
it was plainly obvious. He wrote Khagga Sahab when he should have chosen Mr
Khagga. Really, why a girl returning from the UK would say, 'Khagga
Sahab?'" She added, she quit the movie three days before the shooting.
